St. Paul’s Cathedral Wedding Photographer | Deanne and Michael

St Paul’s Cathedral Wedding Photographer

It was such a great honour to be asked to photograph Deanne and Michael’s wedding at St Paul’s Cathedral a few weeks ago. This wedding had been a long time in the planning and the couple had originally got in touch with me almost three years ago, so I’d been looking forward to the day for quite some time.

It was good to be able to spend some time in the morning with Deanne as she prepared for the day ahead, along with her mum and bridesmaids before hopping into London taxis for the journey to the cathedral. As we arrived a I was pleased to be able to catch a shot of Deanne peering through the window of the cab with the looming cathedral reflected in the glass – if she was nervous she certainly didn’t show it!

Photography in the cathedral

Photography in the cathedral is quite restricted during the ceremony itself, but I was able to find some unobtrusive positions and thanks to my assistant and second photographer, Joan Jellett we managed to cover it with no problems, at the same time enjoying the beautiful service in such a magnificent and historic setting. As the ceremony came to an end, the bride and groom emerged into the sunshine to a wonderful moment of cheers and warm applause of London’s sightseers and tourists!

Wedding reception

A couple of coaches were on hand to transport everyone to The Grange in Northwood, Middlesex for the reception. The Grange is a beautiful country house venue and the wonderful late spring sunshine continued for the rest of the day as the celebrations continued with a welcome appearance from Elsie the vintage ice cream van.

Thanks so much to Deanne and Michael for asking me to photograph their day. It was such a great pleasure! Here is what they had to say about their photographs:

“Nick… What can we say… You are just awesome. The beautiful complimentary prints were a lovely touch.
We are in LOVE with our wedding pics, as is everyone else. You captured our day just perfectly and we could not have asked for anything more.
Your second photographer Joan was ‘second’ to none – I loved looking at the shots she captured whilst the boys were getting ready, and the ones of our flower girls we will treasure forever.
We’d just like to thank you for the most incredible once in a lifetime pictures you’ve taken and how you really captured the enjoyment of the whole day in your work.
I’m so glad I found you… That shot on the front steps of St Paul’s Cathedral though… WOW. Just wow xxx”
