Stokes Farm is a fully working farm just outside Wokingham with a picturesque Victorian barn set in stunning landscaped gardens in the Berkshire countryside. Hannah and Chris were so lucky to have a gorgeous warm late summer day to make the most of the venue.

Wedding Ceremony in Wokingham

I arrived in the morning to a buzzing house full of activity. One of my favourite photographs of the day is of Hannah just after her mum has helped her put the dress on. I believe in capturing the natural moments of the day and this is often a moment of emotion. Hannah's expression tell us everything we need to know about how she's feeling at that moment and the wider picture shows how she is surrounded by her closest friends, her bridesmaids who are waiting outside. This is not a photograph that could be staged or set-up, and it would have no meaning if it was.

The marriage ceremony was held at Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church. The Priest, Fr. David, didn't restrict my movements so I was able to be in the right position to capture more emotion from Hannah at the exact moment they were married. The gallery at the back of the church also gave me a great shot with a wide angle lens of the whole congregation and the striking architecture.

Down On The Farm.

A short hop from the church to nearby Stokes Farm where a steel band were creating the perfect summer atmosphere. It's always good to get portraits of the bride and groom done as soon as possible, while guests are still arriving from the church as this minimises their time away from their guests. I really was spoilt for choice for locations. Another of my favourite photographs of the day was several of the ushers and guests attempting to repair a string of lights that came apart as guests were seated for the meal. It's often the unplanned moments like this that make a day memorable, which is why I never put the camera down!

From the photographs, I think it's fair to say that Hannah and Chris like a good party - I love this time of the day when everyone lets their hair down and the dance floor is full, a great way to end a perfect day.

Thanks for having me along to photograph your wedding - so much fun!
