Perfect Wedding Magazine April 2016

I grew up living around the world as the family followed my dad's career in Europe and Asia. After studying photography at art college I followed my boyhood dream to become a photojournalist, working my way up to the The Times in London where I spent more than ten years covering assignments far-flung destinations alongside some of the best photographers in the world.
I'm now based in Surrey, just on the edge of London where I live with my amazing wife, Camilla and our two little boys. The sunny loft at the top of the house serves as my studio and office.
The passion for photography I had as a boy is still with me now that it's my career, as is my love of adventure from a lifetime of travelling. I have a pilot's licence and a plane which I built from a kit. I've flown myself all around Europe and survived adventurous flights through Africa where my bush-flying stills were tested to the limit. I also love to ski through fresh powder and ride my mountain bike along muddy trails.
A documentary approach to photographing weddings is important to me because I believe that looking back on the real story of your day will matter to you most as the years go by, and I want to tell that story through unposed genuine moments and beautiful portraits. I love photographing people - great portraits say something more about the subject than just what they look like. I've been fortunate to photograph all sorts of people from royalty, world leaders and celebrities to many ordinary people caught up in extraordinary events. Some of my portrait work is now part of the House of Commons Permanent Art Collection.
It’s important to feel confident you’re getting the photography that fits with your style. If this is the approach that sounds right for your wedding I'd love to meet you and hear your story. I'll work with you all the way to understand your plans and requirements - so I can tell the story of your day in the best way possible.
