"We just wanted to drop you a note to thank you for all the amazing photos of our wedding. I am so pleased that you managed to get such great shots of our day. You’ve managed to get some lovely natural shots of us. Both the photos of us walking up the paths worked really well! :) Love the photo of both of us laughing, the little flower girl and Roman’s little face peering out the bus window. I could go on...!
Was lovely having you along on our day and these will really be an great memory - thank you so much :) Love Mr + Mrs Tyler xxx"
I had a wonderful day in September at this stunning wedding in Gloucestershire. It's a part of the country I fell in love with from my younger days as a press photographer in Bristol, so I'm always happy to go back! Huge thanks to my assistant and second photographer Siobhan Amy. I'll leave Jessica and Rich to describe the day in their own words:
We wanted a relaxed wedding with a little bit of tradition and were thrilled when we found Kingscote Barn and Kingscote Church in such rural beauty. We fell in love with the quaint church and the beautiful converted barn just up the road. Having lived in London for the last few years, it only seemed appropriate to have a red London bus to drive guests through the countryside between the two venues. As we both love adventure and travel, we decided to adopt a travel theme for wedding and had a number of people from our travels, along with close friends and family with us to share our special day. Blessed with a bright blue sky and sunshine, we could not have started the day happier and the day continued to get better and better. Getting ready in separate cottages, we finally met at the altar, with sunlight beaming in through the stained glass windows. Our ceremony was just perfect. Mike, our Vicar, adopted the perfect balance between keeping the marriage vows sacred while injecting plenty of humour where appropriate. After being showered with confetti as we left the church, guests were transported in the London bus to The Kingscote Barn, where we enjoyed an afternoon of beautiful food, drink and dancing!
The dining hall at the Kingscote Barn looked even more beautiful than we had hoped! After months of planning we were so pleased with the exquisite floral arrangements which really brought the place to life. Rachel from the Rose Shed had done a really great job. This was complimented by the wonderful antipasti starter from the brilliant Strawberry Field and polaroid name cards to make each place setting a bit more personal!
Everything just fell into place throughout the day and we had the most magical time. One of our favourite times, was being able to pop round to the individual tables during the meal and being able to have a chat with our guests. The whole day really flew by, so it was great to have time throughout the meal to just chat. We ended the evening with a lot of dancing and even got the chance to see the sun start to fade, while having some photos with Nick. We would love to do the day all over again - but wouldn’t change a thing!
If you are planning a wedding at Kingscote Barn and you like my style of photography please do get in touch to see if I'm available. I'm based in London, but I like to get out, and there are no additional travel costs to photograph a wedding in Gloucestershire.
