It's fair to say that I've never photographed a wedding in a station before! St. Pancras International Station is actually a licenced wedding venue and provided a stunning backdrop for Helen and Matt's December wedding. The couple both work in the rail industry and met at work, so they decided to carry the railway theme all through the wedding - including all the guests getting from St. Pancras to the reception venue by Tube!
Helen got ready at the beautiful Colonnade Hotel nearby, before heading to St. Pancras in a taxi with her dad and bridesmaids. The ceremony is held in the upper concourse with the statue of Sir John Betjeman looking on. Afterwards there was some time for photographs in the station whilst the guests enjoyed drinks from Searcy's Champagne Bar.
All the guests then headed down to the Tube, for the short journey to Paddington, than a walk along the Regent's Canal to Little Venice and The Amadeus for the reception. The building is a former chapel and is a stunning venue - beautifully decorated, and the staff were fantastic!
This was a magical winter wedding, it was great to be part of this special day - thanks Helen and Matt for having us along! I must thank my assistant and second photographer, Irene Yap you are awesome!
This is what Helen and Matt said:
"Nick, a quick note to say the photos are just spectacular! Thank you so so much! We're so pleased with them we can't actually choose just one to turn into a thank you card! It may have to be a collage..."
Please feel free to leave a comment for Helen and Matt at the end!
