A few weeks ago I headed down to Kent for the wedding of James, a fruit farmer, and Helena, a professional cage-fighter! The whole day was full of fun and happiness. I spent the morning at the family home which was a hive of activity, it was great to meet makeup artist and hair stylist, Lucy Oldham.
The wedding itself took place at St. Peter's Church at Broughton Monchelsea, a beautiful setting with views of deer grazing on parkland and the Kent Weald stretching into the distance. The service was conducted by Revd. Geoff Davis, who is a family friend and has seen James growing up - his unique style had the church resounding with laughter during the address with a performance worthy of a stand-up comedian! Helena's flowers, as well as all the flowers in the church and marquee were all grown on the farm by Blooming Green, run by James's cousin - all organically grown with a tiny carbon footprint. After the service, James drove his bride back to the family farm in a huge tractor! The marquee looked stunning - the tables groaning under masses of flowers and bottles of absolutely delicious apple and pear juice, straight from the farm's fruit trees.
It was an incredible day, with loads of family and friends having a jolly good time - just the way it should be! Here are some of my favourites.
